Hey everyone! I just wanted to share my recent experience setting up my smart home system using Google Home and SmartThings. It’s been a fun journey, but I have a few questions and I’d love to hear your thoughts!
I started by purchasing a SmartThings hub and a Google Home device. I’ve managed to connect a few smart bulbs and plugs so far, and it’s amazing how easy it is to control everything from my phone or with my voice. I’ve even set up a few routines, like turning on the lights and adjusting the thermostat when I get home.
However, I’m now looking to expand my setup and I’m a bit overwhelmed. I want to add more devices, specifically smart switches for my lights and maybe a smart outlet for my coffee maker. I’ve heard great things about brands like TP-Link and Wemo, but I’m not sure which one would integrate best with my current setup.
Another thing I’m curious about is integrating my Wyze headphones into the system. I recently bought them and I love the mute/unmute feature, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to get some sort of feedback when I press the button. It would be awesome if they could say “Muted” or “Unmuted” like my old Jabra headphones did.
If anyone has tips on the best smart switches or outlets to use with Google Home and SmartThings, or if you know of a way to customize the mute feedback on my headphones, I’d really appreciate it! I’m also open to any general advice on making my smart home setup more seamless.
Looking forward to hearing from you all! ![]()
