Integrating Google Home with Z-Wave and Zigbee Devices: A Beginner's Journey

As a newcomer to the world of smart homes, I’ve been on an exciting journey trying to integrate my existing Google Home setup with Z-Wave and Zigbee devices. I currently have a few Wi-Fi outlets, an LED strip, a Google Nest Hub, and a Sensibo air conditioner, all working seamlessly with Google Home. However, I’m now eager to expand my system with Z-Wave and Zigbee devices, and I’m wondering if I can maintain my current setup while adding these new devices.

I’ve read some posts in this community about integrating Sensibo with OpenHAB, and while I managed to import the latest app and driver code, I’m still facing some issues. For instance, when I try to adjust the temperature using the Sensibo integration, the unit beeps, but the screen goes blank, and the temperature doesn’t change. I’d really appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips from someone who’s successfully integrated Google Home with Z-Wave and Zigbee devices.

Another thing I’m curious about is whether I need to start over with my current setup or if I can gradually incorporate these new devices without disrupting my existing ecosystem. I’m also wondering if there are any best practices or tips for someone at my skill level to ensure a smooth transition.

Thank you in advance for your guidance and support! I’m really excited to dive deeper into the world of smart home automation and can’t wait to learn more.
