Hey everyone! I’ve been experimenting with integrating my GoPro with my Wyze Cam setup, and it’s been a blast! ![]()
I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has tried something similar or has tips to make it even better.
So, here’s the setup: I mounted my GoPro on a tripod near one of my Wyze Cams. Using the Wyze app, I set up a rule where motion detected by the Wyze Cam triggers the GoPro to start recording. The footage is then saved to the GoPro’s internal storage, and I can later review it on my phone or laptop. It’s been surprisingly effective for capturing little moments around the house, like the cat sneaking into the kitchen or birds hanging out in the yard. ![]()
One thing I love about this setup is how easy it was to get started. I didn’t need any additional hardware—just the Wyze Cam, GoPro, and a tripod. I also added a small light near the GoPro to ensure better video quality in low-light conditions. The only minor tweak I had to make was adjusting the motion sensitivity on the Wyze Cam to avoid too many false triggers, but that was straightforward.
I’d love to hear if anyone else has integrated their GoPro or other cameras with their Wyze setup! Do you have any creative uses or tips for combining these devices? Maybe even something like using the GoPro for time-lapse videos or night vision footage? The possibilities seem endless!
Also, if anyone knows a good way to automatically transfer the GoPro footage to the cloud or directly to the Wyze app, I’d be super grateful! For now, I’m manually transferring the files, but it’d be awesome to have it happen automatically.
Let’s keep the brainstorming going! What other cool integrations have you tried with your Wyze devices? I’m always looking for new ways to make my smart home setup even smarter and more fun. ![]()
