Integrating Govee and Xiaomi Devices for Seamless Smart Home Experience

I’ve been on a journey to create a seamless smart home ecosystem, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with you all. One of my main goals was to integrate my Govee LED bulbs with my Xiaomi sensors, all while keeping everything connected through my Hue hub. It’s been quite the adventure, but I’m thrilled with the results so far!

First off, I wanted to make sure that my Govee bulbs were fully compatible with my Hue setup. After some research, I discovered that Govee does offer Wi-Fi-enabled bulbs that work perfectly with Google Assistant. I ended up purchasing the Govee LED light bulbs with Google Assistant integration, and they’ve been a game-changer for my lighting setup. The ability to control them through voice commands has made my mornings so much brighter—literally!

Now, onto the Xiaomi sensors. I’ve been using the Xiaomi Mijia zigbee sensors for a while now, and they’ve been functioning beautifully with my V3 hub. The best part is that my Tradfri bulbs and outlet have been relaying the signal as advertised, which has kept everything connected without any hiccups. However, I wanted to take it a step further by integrating my Tradfri bulbs with my Hue hub for even more control.

One thing I was worried about was whether moving my Tradfri bulbs to the Hue hub would disrupt the signal relay for my Xiaomi sensors. After doing some digging and consulting with some community experts, I learned that as long as the Tradfri devices are properly paired with the Hue hub, they should still be able to communicate with the Xiaomi sensors. It was a bit of a learning curve, but the end result has been worth it!

Another challenge I faced was ensuring that all my devices were on the same network. I had to do some tweaking with my VLAN settings to make sure that my IoT devices were communicating effectively. It was a bit technical, but with some guidance from the community, I managed to get everything set up smoothly.

I also wanted to share a tip for anyone struggling with motion detection on their Wyze cam v2. If you’re finding that headlights are triggering false alarms, there’s a setting in the app that allows you to filter out light-based movements. It’s been a lifesaver for me, especially since I live on a busy street.

Overall, my experience with integrating Govee and Xiaomi devices has been incredibly positive. The key takeaway is to take it one step at a time, do your research, and don’t hesitate to reach out to the community for help. Happy smart home building, everyone! :star2:
