Integrating HMIP-FROLL and HMIP-SWDM-2 for Enhanced Safety

Hi everyone,

I hope this post finds you well. I’ve been working on a project to integrate my HMIP-FROLL roller shutter with an HMIP-SWDM-2 magnetic sensor to ensure an added layer of safety. Let me share my experience and a few questions I have.

The Setup
I currently have a roller shutter controlled by an HMIP-FROLL module, which is connected to a standard wall switch. Everything works perfectly as is. However, I want to automate the process of lowering the roller shutter at a specific time, say 11 PM, for convenience.

The Challenge
My door opens outward, and if it’s left open while the roller shutter lowers, it could cause damage. To prevent this, I’ve set up an HMIP-SWDM-2 magnetic sensor on the door to detect its status. Using a program in my CCU3, I’ve configured it to check the door’s status before lowering the roller shutter. If the door is open, the roller shutter won’t lower. This works well when the automation is triggered through the CCU3’s channel 4.

The Goal
I’d like to enhance this setup by ensuring that the door status check is enforced regardless of how the roller shutter is triggered—whether it’s through the wall switch, the CCU3’s weekly program, or any other method. This would add an extra layer of safety and prevent any potential damage.

The Question
Is there a way to link the HMIP-SWDM-2 sensor with the virtual channel 5 of the HMIP-FROLL module using connection rules? Ideally, this would prevent the roller shutter from lowering if the door is open, no matter the trigger. I’m also curious if this check can be applied when using the wall switch or the module’s built-in weekly program.

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I’m eager to hear how others have tackled similar challenges.

Best regards,
Oliver
