Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I’ve got to say, it’s been an exciting journey!
I’ve recently set up Homematic throughout my house, and it’s been running smoothly so far. However, when it came to my garden, I realized I needed a bit more planning and some creative solutions. Let me share my experience and maybe get some tips from you all!
So, here’s the deal: I’ve got a single 3-core power cable running to my garden. Initially, it was just for a motion-activated light by the pathway and another in my shed. But as I started spending more time outdoors, I realized I wanted to add some ambient lighting around the perimeter. Solar lights weren’t really my thing, so I decided to run a 5-core cable instead. I’ve got these LED lights I want to install, and I’d love to control them all together using Homematic. The goal is to have them turn on automatically at dusk and off at dawn. Sounds simple enough, right? ![]()
I’ve set up a small junction box at the end of the cable, and now I’m at the point where I need to figure out the best way to integrate these lights into my Homematic system. I’ve heard about wireless actors being an option, but I’m not entirely sure which one would be the most reliable and efficient for this setup. I’ve got a total of five lights, all LED, and I’d like them to work in unison. Any recommendations or experiences you’ve had with similar setups would be super helpful!
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with some smart lighting effects for my indoor spaces, and it’s been a blast seeing how these little tweaks can completely transform the ambiance. I’m really curious to see how I can extend that same magic to my garden. If anyone has some cool automation ideas or tips for outdoor lighting, I’d love to hear them!
Thanks in advance for your insights and suggestions! Let’s keep the conversation flowing and help each other create those perfect smart home setups. ![]()
