Hello everyone, I’m currently working on upgrading my existing HomeMatic setup, which currently relies solely on remote controls and actuators. My next big project is setting up a security alarm system. However, I’ve encountered a challenge: the HM-Sec-Cen doesn’t seem to integrate smoothly with the CCU, which is a common issue I’ve noticed in the forums. I’d really like to keep the added benefits of window contacts, such as their use in heating control, but I also want the convenience of a modern alarm system with visualization and code entry.
Here’s what I’ve been thinking: could I connect the alarm sensors to the CCU and then use HM-LC-Sw1-FM and HM-SWI-3-FM switches to link them to the alarm system in a structured way, perhaps floor by floor? I’d love to hear if anyone has successfully implemented something similar or has advice on the best approach for this integration. This information would be invaluable as I move forward with my purchasing decisions.
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with ESP8266 sensors for motion detection, and it’s been a fascinating learning experience. I’d be happy to share some tips on setting those up if anyone is interested. Thanks in advance for your insights and help! Cheers, Robert
