Integrating Huawei Solar into Home Assistant

Hi everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent journey of integrating my Huawei solar energy system into Home Assistant (HA). For those who might be in the same boat, I want to walk through my experience, challenges, and the eventual success I had.

First off, I’ve been using the FusionSolar app without any issues, thanks to my installer setting everything up perfectly. But the real goal was to bring all this solar data into HA for a seamless smart home experience.

I started by gathering the necessary credentials from my installer for the FusionSolar app. Next, I created a Northbound account on the FusionSolar portal, which was crucial for API access. Then, I installed the FusionSolar integration in HA through HACS, entering all the required details like username, password, and Plant ID.

The initial setup seemed smooth, but here’s where things got a bit tricky. After completing the integration, nothing showed up in HA—no sensors, no entities, nothing. No error messages either, which was pretty frustrating. I double-checked everything: the API access was working, the logs in HA didn’t reveal anything useful, and even after restarting HA and reloading the integration, there was no change.

I reached out to the community for help, and the support I received was amazing. Someone suggested checking if the API rights were properly activated or if there was an issue with the Northbound account configuration. After some back-and-forth and a few adjustments, I finally got everything up and running!

Now, HA is perfectly displaying all my solar data—production stats, battery levels, consumption metrics, and more. It’s incredibly satisfying to see all this information consolidated in one place.

For anyone else looking to integrate their Huawei solar setup into HA, my advice would be to ensure your API rights are correctly set and to thoroughly verify each step of the integration process. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the community if you run into any issues—there are plenty of helpful folks out there who are more than willing to assist.

Happy automating, and here’s to a greener, smarter home! :seedling::sparkles:
