Hi everyone, I’m exploring the possibility of using my Ikea Tradfri remote control to manage my Yeelight Wi-Fi smart bulbs. While the idea of having a universal remote for all my smart devices is exciting, I’m curious if this setup is feasible.
Currently, I have a few Yeelight bulbs installed around my home, and they work perfectly with my Home Assistant setup. However, I’d love to have the flexibility of controlling them through a physical remote, especially for guests or family members who aren’t as tech-savvy.
I’ve heard that the Ikea Tradfri remote can send events to the Ikea bridge, which might then be interpreted by Home Assistant. Does anyone have experience with this kind of integration? Additionally, I’m wondering if it’s possible to connect an Osram lightify E14 bulb to the Ikea Tradfri gateway as part of this setup.
If anyone has successfully implemented something similar or has tips on how to configure this, I’d be really grateful for your insights! Let’s brainstorm together on how to make this work.
