After a week-long holiday, I returned to find my plants thriving thanks to my newly integrated Kamoer DIY Automatic Drip Irrigation System. I wanted to share my experience and some tips for anyone looking to automate their garden watering using HomeAssistant.
Setup and Integration
I purchased the Kamoer system from Alibaba and was pleasantly surprised by its ease of assembly. The Bluetooth connection worked seamlessly with my smartphone, allowing me to monitor and adjust settings on the go. Using MiFlora Sensors

Tips for Success
- Test Before Leaving - Ensure your system works flawlessly before going on holiday. I ran a few tests to make sure the automation triggered correctly and the irrigation system responded as expected.
- Monitor Remotely - Use HomeAssistant’s mobile app to check on your system from anywhere. This gave me peace of mind knowing my plants were well taken care of.
- Adjust Settings Gradually - Start with conservative moisture thresholds and adjust based on how your plants respond. Overwatering can be just as damaging as under-watering.
Challenges Faced
Initially, I struggled with getting the Bluetooth connection to reliably communicate with HomeAssistant. Restarting the system and ensuring all devices were on the same network resolved this issue.
