Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience integrating LED canless lights with Hubitat. I’ve been really impressed with how seamless the process was, and I think others might find this useful too! ![]()
I recently upgraded my kitchen lighting with these LED canless lights from Lowe’s. They’re supposed to be easy to install, but I wasn’t entirely sure how they’d work with my existing Hubitat setup. After a bit of research, I found that the integration process was actually pretty straightforward!
Here’s what I did:
- Installation: The lights were surprisingly easy to install. They fit perfectly into my existing recessed lighting fixtures without any major adjustments. The only thing I needed was a ladder and a screwdriver—nothing too complicated!
- Hubitat Integration: Once installed, I used Hubitat’s built-in smart lighting integration to connect them. I didn’t need any additional hubs or complicated wiring, which was a huge plus. The app made it easy to set up scenes and schedules.
- Testing: I tested different brightness levels and color temperatures to see how they performed. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of light—they’re bright enough for cooking but can also dim down for a cozy dinner.
One thing I’d recommend is to make sure your Hubitat firmware is up to date before attempting the integration. I almost ran into an issue because I was on an older version, but updating fixed everything in no time.
Overall, I’m really happy with how this project turned out. It’s made my kitchen feel brand new, and the integration with Hubitat has added a whole new level of convenience. If you’re thinking about upgrading your lighting, I’d definitely give these canless LEDs a try! ![]()
