Hi everyone, I’m currently exploring options to integrate some legacy awnings and blinds into my OpenHAB setup. After spending a week researching, I’m still not entirely sure which solution would be the most hassle-free and reliable. I’d love to hear about your experiences and which setups you’ve found to work best.
So far, I’ve looked into a few options:
- URTSI: The hardware seems solid, and there’s an OH3 binding available, but I’m struggling to find detailed information on hardware installation and long-term stability.
- RFXCOM: I’ve come across the OH3 binding, but it seems the hardware has been unavailable for months, which is a bit concerning.
- RFLINK: While there’s no dedicated binding, it might be possible to use the serial binding. The hardware is available, but I’m not sure how well it would integrate with my setup.
- Nanocul: This option doesn’t have an OH3 binding yet, but there are some beta versions floating around. It seems like a high-effort choice, especially with the need to edit and flash devices.
I’m particularly interested in knowing how each solution performs in terms of reliability and ease of use. Have any of you successfully integrated legacy blinds using these or other methods? I’d appreciate any tips or recommendations you might have. Thanks in advance for your insights!
