I’ve been exploring ways to improve my home security setup using multiple presence sensors. One thing I’ve noticed is the potential for double actions, like my garage door opening multiple times because different sensors detect me at slightly different moments. To address this, I’d love to link all my sensors—like my iPhone, keychain sensor, and car sensor—to a single person profile. This way, I could ensure that all sensors need to be present before certain actions, like opening the garage, take place. It would add an extra layer of security and prevent those annoying false triggers!
Another thing I’ve been curious about is speeding up the detection of my ST presence sensors. Sometimes I have to wait in my driveway for the garage to open, which I assume is a safety measure to prevent misfires. I wonder if there’s a setting to adjust this or if adding a repeater could help. Also, the idea of using iBeacons for more precise and faster detection sounds intriguing. It could be especially useful for turning on lights as I enter different areas of my home.
