My goal was to combine devices from different brands, such as Samsung, Aqara, and Wyze, into a cohesive system using SmartThings as the central hub. For instance, my Samsung TV initially didn’t recognize the SmartThings Hub, but after some research, I discovered that the TV itself can act as a hub, eliminating the need for an additional purchase. This was a pleasant surprise and a great cost-saving tip for anyone starting out.Another hurdle was troubleshooting the Aqara door sensors, which suddenly stopped working. After some frustration, I found out that the issue was due to interference from IKEA smart bulbs. Replacing them with Hue bulbs resolved the problem, highlighting the importance of understanding how different devices interact on the same network.The experience taught me the value of community support and the importance of thorough research.
