I’ve been exploring the integration of multiple smart devices in HomeAssistant and wanted to share my experiences and questions with the community. Our household is fully equipped with smart devices across all rooms, and I’ve successfully integrated an Echo Dot in the living room to control roller blinds, thermostats, and lighting. However, I’m now looking to expand this setup to include multiple Echo Dots in different areas of the house, such as the kids’ bedrooms.
Here are some of my questions:
- Can I integrate multiple Echo devices into HomeAssistant, and if so, how?
- Is it possible to ensure that each Echo Dot only controls the devices in its specific room?
- Do these devices need to be linked to separate accounts, and can they use different accounts?
Additionally, I’m curious if it’s possible to communicate with the kids through their Echo Dots using my main Alexa device. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
