Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent project where I successfully integrated several smart devices into my home setup. I recently purchased a Sonoff Zigbee module and a Z-Wave motion sensor, and I wanted to combine them with my existing OpenHAB system.
Initially, I faced some challenges. The Z-Wave motion sensor was giving me trouble after its battery died, and I was worried about it getting stuck. I also noticed that the Sonoff module wasn’t pairing correctly with my SmartThings hub. After some research, I found that resetting the motion sensor and ensuring proper firmware updates on the Sonoff helped stabilize their performance.
I also wanted to automate some routines using timers. I tried setting up a timer script in OpenHAB to turn off my washing machine after a certain period. While I encountered some issues with multiple timers being created, I managed to resolve it by adjusting the script logic. It’s crucial to ensure that the script checks for existing timers before creating new ones.
For those interested in integrating various smart devices, I highly recommend checking out the Udoo and Fargo projects. They offer great flexibility and can complement your existing setup nicely.
Overall, it’s been a rewarding experience seeing all these devices work seamlessly together. If anyone has questions or needs help with similar integrations, feel free to reach out! ![]()
