Integrating Multiple Smart Home Brands with Homey Pro

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration for a while now, and I must say, it’s been quite an adventure! After spending weeks researching, I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase the Homey Pro. My goal was to consolidate all my smart devices under one roof, so to speak, and eliminate the need for multiple apps. But I had some concerns—would the Homey app truly allow me to control everything seamlessly? And more importantly, would my family, who aren’t as tech-savvy, find it user-friendly?

My setup includes a variety of devices: 6 Sonos speakers, around 60 Hue lamps with a bridge, Brelux blinds with a Somfy hub, a Mitsubishi air conditioner with Melcloud, a Daikin heat pump, Solaredge panels, Ring cameras, and more. The idea was to create a system where, for example, if my son opens a window or door, the air conditioner turns off, and his lights turn off when he leaves the house. I wanted to avoid the clutter of multiple apps and have everything in one place.

After setting up the Homey Pro, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how intuitive the app is. Even my wife, who initially was hesitant, has found it easy to navigate. The flow builder has been a lifesaver for creating custom routines. For instance, I set up a flow where the lights dim and the thermostat adjusts when it’s time for bed. It’s these little touches that make the home feel smarter and more connected.

One thing I’ve learned is the importance of proper setup and configuration. Taking the time to categorize devices and create logical groups has made the interface much cleaner. I also recommend exploring the community flows available on the Homey website—they’ve saved me a lot of time and provided some creative ideas I wouldn’t have thought of myself.

If you’re on the fence about upgrading to Homey Pro, especially with a family, I’d say go for it. The initial learning curve is worth it for the convenience and streamlined experience it offers. Plus, the sense of accomplishment when everything works seamlessly is pretty satisfying!

Has anyone else had a similar experience integrating multiple brands? I’d love to hear about your setups and any tips you might have. Happy automating! :rocket:
