Integrating Multiple Smart Home Devices: My Success Story

I’ve been on a journey to integrate various smart home devices into my ecosystem, and I wanted to share my experiences in case it helps others. My goal was to create a seamless setup using different brands and technologies, which I’ve achieved with some trial and error.

One of the biggest challenges was integrating my Google Calendar with my Hubitat C-8 Pro hub. Initially, I encountered an issue where the OAuth client was deleted, causing my calendars to stop working. After some research, I discovered that deleting the .google.token file and recreating the OAuth details resolved the issue. It was a bit frustrating, but persistence paid off!

Another highlight was setting up my Shelly Mini PM temperature sensor. I noticed some unexpected spikes in the temperature readings, which turned out to be due to the steady 100W load from a connected device. After adjusting the settings and monitoring closely, everything stabilized, and now it provides accurate readings.

For those looking to integrate enocean devices with homegear, I found it surprisingly smooth. The setup process was straightforward, and the integration with OpenHAB worked seamlessly once I followed the correct configurations. It’s great to see such compatibility in the smart home ecosystem.

I’d love to hear from others about their integration experiences—whether it’s troubleshooting specific devices, sharing tips, or showcasing successful setups. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other create smarter homes!
