Integrating Nest Thermostat with Philips Hue

Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to set up a seamless integration between my Nest Thermostat and Philips Hue light bulbs, and I wanted to share my journey and ask for some tips.

So far, I’ve managed to get the basics working—like adjusting the lights when the thermostat changes modes. But I’m running into a bit of trouble when it comes to automating the lights based on temperature changes. I’ve tried using routines and smart app integrations, but nothing seems to stick consistently.

One thing I’ve noticed is that the Hue bulbs respond perfectly when I manually adjust the thermostat, but they don’t seem to pick up on the temperature changes automatically. I’ve checked the settings, updated the firmware, and even reset the devices a few times. Still no luck!

Has anyone else tackled this kind of integration? I’d love to hear about any workarounds or creative solutions you’ve come across. Maybe there’s a way to use third-party apps or even some custom coding to make this work?

On a positive note, I’ve really enjoyed how the Nest Thermostat integrates with my smart home ecosystem. It’s just a shame that the Philips Hue integration isn’t as smooth as I hoped. I’m determined to figure this out, though, and I’m excited to see what the community has to offer in terms of advice and support.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
