I came across this Teckin wireless outdoor socket, and it seems promising. It’s waterproof, has two outputs, and claims compatibility with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and IFTTT. My main question is: how can I ensure this device works smoothly with Home Assistant?
From what I understand, if the socket is compatible with Google Home, there should be a way to create an entity in Home Assistant. But I’m not entirely sure how to go about it. Should I rely on the built-in Google Home integration, or is there a more direct method? I’m also curious if others have successfully integrated similar devices and what their experiences were.
Another consideration is the outdoor setup. I want to make sure the socket is placed in a location where it’s both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Maybe near my garden or on my patio. I’m also thinking about security—ensuring the socket is weatherproof and tamper-proof.
