Hi everyone! I recently helped my parents set up a Ring Alarm system along with a couple of Ring cameras and some Feit WiFi dimmers. They also have an Echo Dot, and I’m trying to help them create a smart home setup where an alarm from the Ring system can trigger an Alexa routine to turn on the lights.
I know Ring and Alexa are both Amazon products, but I’m not entirely sure how to connect the dots here. From what I understand, the Ring base station acts as a hub, but I don’t think it integrates directly with Alexa routines without some additional setup.
Has anyone here successfully linked their Ring Alarm with Alexa routines? Is there a straightforward way to do this, or will I need to use third-party apps like IFTTT or SmartThings? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated! I want to make sure their home is as secure and convenient as possible. Thanks in advance for your help!
