Hi everyone,
I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my home security system and came across the Ring Keypad with built-in Z-Wave. It caught my eye because it’s affordable and sleek, but there’s one hurdle—integrating it with my Homey setup. From what I gather, the Ring app doesn’t currently support this device, which is a bit of a letdown. Has anyone had success adding this keypad to their Homey ecosystem? I’d love to hear your experiences or any workarounds you might know about!
While I’m on the topic of security, I also wanted to share my experience with setting up Away Mode automations. Initially, everything was running smoothly, but lately, I’ve noticed that the automations aren’t triggering as they should. The logs show that the hub detects when everyone leaves, but the lights don’t turn off, and the thermostat doesn’t adjust. It’s perplexing because manually running the automation works perfectly. I’m wondering if this could be related to recent updates or if there’s a setting I’ve overlooked. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Another thing I’ve been curious about is the ability to control individual double wall sockets via Google Home. Since switching to the Edge drivers, the sockets appear as a single device in Google Home, which limits my ability to control them separately. I’d love to know if there’s a way to revert to having two separate devices without reverting to the older DTH system. It’s a minor inconvenience, but it would make my setup more versatile.
Lastly, I’ve been researching wireless radiator actuators for my openHAB setup. I’m looking for something simple, battery-powered, and affordable. The ideal device would allow remote control, part-opening functionality, and battery status monitoring. I’ve come across a few options, but none quite fit all my criteria. If anyone has recommendations or has successfully implemented a similar solution, I’d love to hear about it!
Thanks in advance for your help and insights. It’s amazing how this community shares knowledge to make our smart homes even smarter!
Best regards,
