Integrating Samsung Family Hub Fridge with SmartThings: A User's Experience

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with integrating the Samsung Family Hub fridge with the SmartThings app. I recently purchased the Samsung 671 Family Hub fridge, and while it’s packed with features, I encountered some challenges during the setup process.

Initially, I was excited to connect the fridge to my SmartThings ecosystem. The fridge comes with the SmartThings app, and my Galaxy S8 phone also supports it. I was able to connect the fridge to the internet and browse pages, but I faced an issue when trying to register the fridge on my phone or vice versa. Despite multiple attempts, including cycling the power on the fridge and reinstalling the app, I kept getting an error message stating that registration couldn’t be completed.

One of my Samsung TVs registered automatically without any issues, which made me wonder why the fridge was having trouble. I tried both automatic registration and manually selecting the fridge’s model number, but the same error persisted. I’ve spent about a week troubleshooting this, and while I haven’t found a solution yet, I wanted to document my experience in case others are facing similar issues.
