Integrating Schlage BE 469ZP with Samsung SmartThings: A User's Journey

Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone has encountered and resolved an issue similar to mine. I’ve been trying to integrate my Schlage BE 469ZP smart lock with my Samsung SmartThings hub, but it’s been a bit of a challenge.

A few weeks ago, I noticed that my Schlage lock, which had been working perfectly, suddenly stopped responding. It still showed up as a connected device in the SmartThings app, but it consistently reported an open state, even when it was securely locked. This was quite concerning, as I rely on this lock for my home security.

I did some research and found that excluding and then re-adding the device might resolve the issue. However, the process has been anything but straightforward. The new SmartThings web interface is quite different from what I’m used to, and I’m finding it difficult to navigate through the settings to locate the necessary options.

I stumbled upon a suggestion to exclude the device, delete the legacy device handler, and then reinstall it. I managed to exclude the lock, but I’m stuck on how to delete the legacy device handler. I’m not sure where this option is located in the new interface. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

I’m also curious if others have faced similar issues with Schlage locks and how they resolved them. Have you found any workarounds or troubleshooting steps that were particularly effective? I’m eager to get this sorted out so I can regain full functionality of my smart lock.

Thank you in advance for any advice or insights you can share. I’m hopeful that with the help of this community, I can get my Schlage lock working seamlessly with my SmartThings setup again.
