I’ve been using Shelly devices for quite some time now, especially the Shelly 2.5 for controlling my blinds. It’s been a game-changer, offering both reliability and ease of use. Recently, I decided to integrate my Xiaomi Miio Gateway 3 into the mix, aiming to expand my smart home ecosystem further. The goal was to create a seamless experience where devices from different brands work together effortlessly.
The Challenge:
Initially, getting the Xiaomi Gateway 3 to communicate with my existing Shelly devices was a bit of a puzzle. I encountered some issues with device discovery and entity setup, which I documented in the logs. After some research and troubleshooting, I realized it was a matter of ensuring the right firmware and configurations were in place.

For example, when motion is detected in the living room, the blinds automatically open to let in natural light. It’s such a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in daily convenience!
