Integrating Shelly Button 1 with Multiple Shelly 2.5 Devices

I’ve been exploring ways to streamline my smart home setup, and I came across an interesting challenge that I wanted to share. I have several Shelly 2.5 devices controlling my blinds, and I wanted to find a way to control them all with a single button press. That’s where the Shelly Button 1 came into the picture.

Initially, I wasn’t sure if the Shelly Button 1 could handle multiple devices. After some research and experimentation, I discovered that it’s possible to create a group in the Shelly app and assign all my Shelly 2.5 devices to this group. This way, pressing the button once can trigger all the devices to either open or close their respective blinds.

The setup process was straightforward. I paired the Shelly Button 1 with my existing Shelly 2.5 devices, created a new group in the app, and assigned all the devices to this group. From there, I set up the automation rules to trigger the desired actions when the button is pressed. It’s been working flawlessly ever since!

One thing I found particularly helpful was the ability to customize the automation rules. I can set it up so that a single press opens all the blinds, while a double press closes them. This adds an extra layer of convenience to my daily routine.

While I was initially concerned about potential compatibility issues, the Shelly ecosystem proved to be very robust. The devices communicate seamlessly, and the app provides a user-friendly interface for managing all my smart home devices. I’m really impressed with how Shelly has designed their products to work together so effortlessly.

If anyone has any questions or needs help setting up something similar, feel free to reach out! I’d be happy to share more details about my setup or troubleshoot any issues you might encounter.
