I’ve recently been diving into the world of smart home automation, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! One of the devices I’ve been particularly interested in is the Shelly line of smart plugs and switches. They’ve been praised for their reliability and ease of integration, so I decided to give them a try in my setup.
My goal was to integrate a Shelly Plus 1 into my existing Busch-Jäger switch setup. The idea was to modernize my garden lighting without having to completely overhaul my current infrastructure. I was curious to see if the Shelly Plus 1 could fit seamlessly into my existing Busch-Jäger 2601/6/20 EW-53 switch, given the limited space inside the device. After some research and reaching out to the community, I found that while the space was tight, it was indeed possible with some careful installation.
The process involved a bit of trial and error, but I managed to configure the Shelly Plus 1 to work alongside my existing setup. I was impressed by how straightforward the integration was once everything was in place. The ability to control my garden lights via Alexa and monitor their usage through the Shelly app has been a huge plus.
I’d love to hear from others who’ve undertaken similar projects. Have you successfully integrated Shelly devices into older or non-smart home setups? What tips or tricks did you find most helpful? I’m always looking for ways to optimize my smart home ecosystem, and your experiences could be invaluable!
Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other navigate the sometimes tricky waters of smart home integration!
