I’ve been on an exciting journey integrating various smart devices into my home ecosystem, and I wanted to share my experiences and seek some advice from the community.
Starting with my Hue lights, I’ve managed to set up some beautiful scenes using Openhab, but I’m hitting a snag when trying to trigger these scenes via rules. The logs show some cryptic values, and I’m not quite sure how to proceed. If anyone has successfully done this, I’d love to hear your approach!
Another challenge I’ve encountered is with my Raspberry Pi running Openhabian. The IO LED has been flashing constantly, which I suspect is due to the system writing to the SD card frequently. I’m concerned about the longevity of my SD card. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how did you mitigate it?
On a more positive note, I recently installed some Gledopto flood lights. While I was disappointed that I couldn’t change the power cable, the brightness and color accuracy have been impressive. They’ve really transformed my outdoor lighting setup!
I’m also in the early stages of planning a smart HVAC system. I’m researching which devices to invest in and would appreciate any recommendations on features to look for, especially regarding integration with Home Assistant.
Overall, despite the hurdles, I’m thrilled with how my smart home is coming together. The community support has been invaluable, and I’m eager to continue learning and improving my setup. Thanks to everyone for their insights and help!
