Hey everyone, I wanted to share my journey of integrating various smart devices to create a seamless energy monitoring system in my home. It’s been quite an adventure, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or tips along the way!
I recently purchased a BN600MC UPS to keep my computers running during power fluctuations, but I faced an issue where the UPS would shut down my systems even for brief outages. After some research, I discovered that adjusting the UPS settings to handle short power interruptions without shutting down was the solution. It was a bit tricky, but now my systems stay up during those brief power flickers!
Speaking of power management, I’ve also been exploring energy monitoring with my Sonoff devices. I’ve set up a system to track my pool pump’s energy usage, which has been fascinating. I created a custom automation to turn the pump on and off every hour, using a virtual switch to control it. The setup involved some trial and error, especially with ensuring the pump turns off at the right time, but it’s working smoothly now!
Another project I’m proud of is integrating my Ziggo Mediabox XL with my Hubitat ecosystem. Initially, I was concerned about compatibility, but after some digging, I found a way to connect it using Home Assistant. It’s been a great addition to my smart home setup!
I’d love to hear how others have tackled similar projects or if there are better ways to optimize energy monitoring and device integration. Any tips or experiences would be invaluable!
