As I delve deeper into the world of smart home automation, I’ve found myself on a quest to integrate devices from various brands. This journey has been both exciting and challenging, and I’d love to share my experiences and insights with the community.
Initially, I explored several ZigBee and Z-Wave solutions, including the OSRAM Lightify Plug, IKEA Tradfri Steckdosenadapter, and INNR SP120 Adapter. While these worked to some extent, I noticed inconsistencies in reliability and performance. My latest venture has been with Shelly devices, particularly the Shelly Plus 1 Mini (WiFi), which has proven to be a game-changer for me. The simplicity and reliability of Wi-Fi-based devices have been a breath of fresh air compared to my earlier experiences with ZigBee and Z-Wave.
One area where I’m still seeking advice is finding the perfect temperature sensors and thermostats for my underfloor heating system. I’ve tried a variety of options, including the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor, Heatit Z-Wave, and Shelly Plus H&T, but none have fully met my expectations. Ideally, I’d love a solution that integrates seamlessly with my Homey ecosystem and also appears in Apple Home, allowing me to check room temperatures via Siri. If anyone has successfully navigated this challenge, I’d be thrilled to hear your recommendations!
This journey has taught me the importance of thorough research and patience when integrating diverse smart home devices. It’s also highlighted the value of community support, as sharing experiences and learning from others can significantly streamline the process. I’m eager to continue exploring and refining my smart home setup, and I look forward to connecting with fellow enthusiasts who share this passion.
