Using the native SamsungTV integration along with the TV Card HACS add-on, I created a custom remote control interface. This not only enhances convenience but also adds a touch of personalization to my smart home setup.
When it came to expanding my Wi-Fi coverage, I invested in a multi-room Wi-Fi 6 mesh system. After researching several options, I settled on the TP-Link Deco, which has provided consistent and reliable coverage throughout my apartment. The ability to connect each node via UTP has been a significant advantage, ensuring stable performance without the need for additional hardware.
However, not everything went smoothly. I encountered an issue with an automation script designed to manage my hot water system. The script was supposed to activate the water heater when the temperature dropped below 38°C, especially outside of peak hours. Initially, the automation worked well, but it sporadically failed to trigger during the morning hours. After some troubleshooting, I realized the issue was with the time condition in the script. Adjusting the time zones and ensuring the script accounted for daylight saving changes resolved the problem.
Another challenge was finding compatible RGBW bulbs for my outdoor lighting. After extensive research, I discovered that while many bulbs are Wi-Fi enabled, few support OTA updates for Tasmota. Eventually, I found a reliable brand that met my needs, allowing me to enjoy customizable lighting for holidays and special occasions.
