Integrating Smart Home Systems for Efficient Climate Control

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience integrating my smart home systems to create a more efficient and comfortable living environment. As many of you know, maintaining the right humidity levels is crucial, especially during the winter months. My journey began when I noticed that my ventilation system was not operating as efficiently as I hoped, particularly in controlling indoor humidity levels. I recently connected my ventilation system to my Homematic setup, following a guide I found online. This allowed me to automate the ventilation process based on real-time humidity data. To achieve this, I utilized a Raspberry Pi to log data from my WS1080 weather station, which provides both indoor and outdoor humidity readings. The goal was to send this data to my CCU2 to control the ventilation system dynamically. After some research and experimentation, I discovered that using a custom script on my Raspberry Pi to send data to the CCU2 was the most effective solution. This setup now allows me to monitor and adjust the ventilation system based on the absolute humidity levels both inside and outside my home. It’s been a fantastic way to ensure that my home remains comfortable and energy-efficient. For anyone looking to integrate multiple devices or systems, I recommend starting with a clear plan and leveraging existing community resources. The support I received from this forum was invaluable, and I’m excited to contribute my experience back to the community. If you have any questions or suggestions about my setup or similar projects, feel free to reach out! I’d love to hear about how others are integrating their systems for better climate control. Happy tinkering! :rocket:
