I’ve recently embarked on a journey to integrate my smart lighting and security systems, and I must say, it’s been an enlightening experience! 
Starting with my lighting setup, I’ve been using Wyze strip lights under my kitchen cabinets, and they’ve truly transformed the space. The ability to customize colors and brightness has made meal prepping and entertaining guests a breeze. However, I encountered a minor hiccup when I tried to install them above the stove and sink due to cabinet separation. After some research, I discovered that wiring outlets inside the cabinets was the perfect solution. Now, I have subtle, elegant lighting without any visible fixtures—problem solved! 
On the security front, I’ve been exploring Shelly Flood sensors and cameras. While I faced some initial challenges with firmware updates and connectivity, the community support has been invaluable. I even managed to set up a Shelly Flood sensor in my garage, which sends alerts directly to my phone. The integration with my existing smart home ecosystem has been seamless, and I’m thrilled with how it’s enhancing my home’s security. 
One unexpected joy has been discovering how these systems can work together. For instance, motion detected by a Shelly camera can trigger my Wyze lights to turn on, creating a truly connected home environment. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love diving into smart home tech—it’s all about creating a space that’s both functional and personalized.
