Zigbee’s mesh networking seemed robust, but I wasn’t sure about its ecosystem. On the other hand, Z-Wave’s reliability and wide range of compatible devices were hard to ignore. After some research, I decided to go with the Qubino Mini Dimmer for its versatility and ease of integration with my Homey hub.
Installation and Setup
Installing the dimmers was straightforward, especially since I could use existing wall switches. Configuring them with Homey was a breeze, and the ability to create custom scenes and routines has been transformative. For example, I can now set my living room lights to dim gradually as the sun sets, creating a cozy ambiance without lifting a finger.
Tips for Others

- Check Compatibility: Ensure your chosen dimmers are compatible with your smart home hub and other devices.
- Experiment with Scenes: Don’t hesitate to create different lighting scenarios for various occasions.
