Hello everyone, I’m excited to share my recent experience integrating smart lighting with motion sensors to enhance security in my home. After a recent incident where a suspicious person was caught on camera, I decided to take proactive steps to improve my home’s security system.
I’ve been using Phillips Hue exterior lights paired with motion sensors, but I encountered an issue where the automation didn’t trigger the interior lights as intended. After some research and experimentation, I discovered that the automation rules needed to be adjusted to ensure seamless communication between the exterior and interior systems.
Here’s what I did: I set up a rule where the motion sensor on the exterior would trigger both the exterior lights and the interior lights simultaneously. This not only provides better visibility but also acts as a deterrent to potential intruders. Additionally, I integrated notifications to my phone, ensuring I’m always informed of any activity.
