This holiday season, I decided to take my home automation to the next level by integrating Wyze RGB light bulbs into my smart lighting setup. The goal was to create a festive ambiance for my front door, and I couldn’t be happier with the results!
I started by setting up two Wyze RGB bulbs to turn on at sunset and stay on until 1 PM. I programmed one bulb to turn green and the other red, creating a cheerful holiday display. But I wanted to take it a step further—adding motion detection to make the lights interactive.
Here’s what I did: I connected a Wyze camera to the bulbs and set up a simple rule. When the camera detects motion, the bulbs switch to full brightness with a daylight color. After 30 seconds, the bulbs change colors—green for one and red for the other. It’s a fun way to greet visitors and add some holiday cheer!
The setup was surprisingly straightforward. I used the Wyze app to configure the bulbs and camera, then created a simple automation rule in my smart home hub. The only challenge was figuring out how to delay the color change by 30 seconds after motion detection. But with a bit of research and experimentation, I got it working perfectly.
