I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my home security system by integrating smart locks and automating certain routines. One of the challenges I faced was getting my Kwikset SmartCode 914 lock to work seamlessly with Home Assistant. After some research, I found that the lock’s state wasn’t being accurately reported through the gateway, which was a bit frustrating. However, I managed to work around this by setting up custom automations that trigger based on the lock’s status updates. It’s been a learning experience, but the end result has made my home much safer and more convenient.
