Integrating Smart Radiator Valves for Optimal Heating Control

I recently upgraded my bathroom heating system by adding a second smart radiator valve, and I wanted to share my experience and solution for controlling both valves independently.

Initially, I had a V3+ valve controlling the main radiator, which worked perfectly. I then added a Terrier valve for the towel radiator, hoping to manage both devices separately. However, I quickly realized that grouping them under the same room in my smart home setup caused both valves to operate as a single unit, which wasn’t ideal.

After some research and experimentation, I discovered that assigning unique names and separate entities to each valve in my smart home platform was the key to independent control. This allowed me to create distinct automations for each radiator, ensuring the main radiator runs consistently while the towel radiator only activates when needed, such as after a shower.

This setup has significantly improved my home comfort and energy efficiency. If anyone else is dealing with multiple smart valves in the same room, I highly recommend exploring unique naming and entity separation in your smart home system—it’s a game-changer!
