Why Monitor Water Filtration?

Hardware Setup
Here’s what I used to create this smart system:
- Pressure Sensors: To monitor incoming and outgoing water pressure.
- ESPHome Board: For processing sensor data.
- Water Softener Salt Level Sensor: To track salt levels without manual checks.
- Smart Switches: For remote control of filtration system components.
Step-by-Step Integration
- Installing Pressure Sensors: I mounted these sensors on both the incoming and outgoing water lines to track pressure drops, which indicate when filters need cleaning or replacement.
- Setting Up the ESPHome Board: This board processes data from all sensors and sends it to my Home Assistant setup.
- Monitoring Salt Levels: Using a load cell, I created a system to measure the weight of the salt bin, ensuring I never run out unexpectedly.
- Automating Alerts: I programmed my system to send push notifications when pressure drops below a certain threshold or when salt levels are low.
