Integrating Smart Tech on My Bike: A Fun Project!

Hey everyone, I’ve been exploring some new ways to integrate smart tech into my daily life, and I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on. I’ve recently started using Wyze cameras on my e-bike, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my commute. Here’s how I set it up and some tips for anyone interested in doing something similar!

First, I mounted two Wyze Cam v2 units on my bike. I chose these because they’re compact and have good video quality. I also picked up a power bank to keep everything charged on the go. To protect the cameras from the weather, I used Gorilla tape to secure them and cut out small holes for the lenses and power cords. It’s not the most elegant solution, but it’s been surprisingly effective!

I also added an old phone with a working SIM card to use as a hotspot. I configured both cameras at home using my 2.4 GHz network and set up the hotspot with the same name and password. This way, I can monitor my bike in real-time from my phone, even when I’m not nearby. It’s been a great peace of mind, especially since I’m out delivering groceries in NYC and can’t always keep an eye on my bike.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has tips for improving this setup. Have you found any creative ways to integrate smart devices into your daily routine? Let’s share our experiences and ideas!
