Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home security lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with the community.
First, I’ve been really impressed with the Tado Smart Thermostat. It’s been a game-changer for managing our home heating efficiently. The integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant has made controlling the thermostat incredibly seamless. Plus, the ability to use location-based automation is a huge plus—it adjusts the temperature based on whether I’m at home or not. However, I’m curious if anyone has tried using multiple Tado thermostats for different rooms and how that affects overall energy savings.
On the security front, I’ve been exploring camera options to monitor my mother’s apartment and our main home, especially with young grandchildren around. I’m currently using two cameras, but I’m concerned about power outages. Does anyone know of a notification system that alerts when the camera’s power is lost? I’ve looked through the app, but I couldn’t find such an option.
Another topic I’m passionate about is Z-Wave network reliability. I’ve experienced some delays in my Z-Wave network, where commands take about 25 seconds to process. This is frustrating, especially for real-time automation. I’ve tried reloading the Z-Wave engine, which temporarily fixes the issue, but it’s not a long-term solution. Does anyone have tips on diagnosing or resolving this?
Lastly, I’m looking into integrating Govee sensors into my setup. I love their range and ease of use, but I’m wondering if they plan to release individual sensors that can connect to an existing bridge. This would be perfect for expanding my current setup without adding more hubs.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on these topics! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other optimize our smart home setups. ![]()
