Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to share my recent experience with integrating SmartThings and Node-RED. After a year away from Home Assistant, I decided to give it another shot, especially after setting up a SmartThings hub that now controls everything in my home. It’s been a fascinating journey, and I wanted to explore how much of my setup runs locally versus relying on the cloud.
I’ve configured SmartThings and installed Node-RED, but I’m still a bit unclear on the balance between local and cloud operations. If anyone has insights or tips on optimizing this setup, I’d greatly appreciate it!
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with ESPHome to connect my Solis inverter. It’s been a bit of a challenge, but I’m hopeful it’ll come together soon. If anyone has experience with RS485 connections, your advice would be invaluable!
Lastly, I wanted to mention my success with Aqara devices in managing my indoor plants and two energetic dogs. It’s amazing how technology can help maintain the perfect environment for both my greenery and my furry friends.
