Hi everyone, I wanted to share my positive experience with integrating my solar panels and Hue lights in Homey. For over a decade, I’ve been using 15 solar panels on my house, and recently, I purchased the Homey Energy Dongle. I’m eager to monitor my solar panel output directly in the Energy tab of the Homey app. Currently, I’m exploring how to extract data from the Homey Energy Dongle and display it using a virtual device with the “zonnepanelen” capability. It’s been a fun challenge, and I’m hopeful to find a solution soon! ![]()
Separately, I’ve been working on optimizing my Hue lights. I noticed that sometimes the bulbs retain their last color when turning on after being off. For instance, during my “Asleep” mode, they’re set to red for nightlights. However, when triggered by another rule, like opening the basement door, they revert to red instead of switching to white. I’d love to set a specific color when the lights turn on, especially for the open/closed sensor. I’m curious if anyone has successfully implemented this and would be happy to share their setup! ![]()
Lastly, I’m experimenting with Node-RED to display input content on different UIs. I’ve created two entity cards—one for water timing and another for valve configurations. My goal is to display the valve settings alongside the timing inputs for better organization. It’s a bit tricky, but I’m enjoying the process of making my setup more user-friendly. ![]()
I’d love to hear from others who have tackled similar projects or have tips to share. Let’s keep the conversation positive and collaborative! Thanks in advance for your insights. ![]()
