Integrating Sonos with Raspberry Pi and Home Assistant

Hi everyone, I’m really excited to share my experience with integrating Sonos speakers into my Home Assistant setup using a Raspberry Pi. I’ve been exploring how to enable wireless audio output from my Raspberry Pi 4, which runs Home Assistant, to my Sonos system. This would allow me to use Rhasspy for voice commands and have the audio output through my Sonos speakers. While I’m still working on getting everything perfectly synced, the progress so far has been pretty smooth!

I’ve also been experimenting with different ways to control my Sonos devices through scenes in Home Assistant. For instance, I’d love to be able to play a specific playlist or adjust the volume for a different scene without manually switching on the Sonos app. It’s a bit tricky, but I’m hopeful that with some tweaking, I can get it all working seamlessly.

Another thing I’ve been curious about is how others handle multiple devices from different brands. I’ve heard great things about the Leviton Smart dimmer switches, especially the Z-Wave and Zigbee models. I’m planning to install a few of these to control my recessed lighting, and I’m wondering if anyone has tips on ensuring they work well with an existing OpenHAB setup. The AEOTEC hub I have supports both Z-Wave and Zigbee, so I’m optimistic about compatibility, but I’d love to hear from someone who’s done this before.

On a lighter note, I’ve been enjoying the convenience of my Govee smart space heater. It’s been a lifesaver during the colder months, and the ability to control it through my smartphone is a huge plus. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried this or similar devices and their experiences with them.

Overall, I’m really enjoying diving into the world of smart home automation. It’s a learning curve, but every成功 I achieve makes it worth it. If anyone has tips, tricks, or just general advice, I’d be happy to hear them!
