Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of integrating Spotify with Sonos, and I wanted to share my experience and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. ![]()

So, first off, I set up the Spotify integration on my Home Assistant instance, and I have to admit, it’s pretty smooth. I created an app, configured it in my configuration.yaml, and now I have access to two Spotify accounts within the Media Browser. That part was a breeze! ![]()
However, I ran into a bit of a snag when trying to control the playback devices. The issue is that when I create a media_player for one of my Spotify accounts, the source only shows my phone, not the Sonos speakers. That’s a bit frustrating because I want to play music directly on my Sonos devices from Home Assistant. ![]()
I figured out a workaround—play the music on my phone and then control it via Home Assistant. But it’s not the seamless experience I was hoping for. Another thing I noticed is that when browsing through the Sonos media player, it only picks up the first Spotify account. I’d love to have the option to switch between my two accounts seamlessly. ![]()
I’ve checked the logs, and there don’t seem to be any errors related to this issue. Maybe it’s a limitation in how the integrations are currently set up. I’m curious if others have encountered this and if there are any solutions or workarounds out there. ![]()
On a positive note, I’ve managed to create some pretty cool automations using Spotify and Sonos together. For example, when I come home, my Sonos speakers automatically start playing my favorite playlist. It’s these little touches that really make my smart home feel cohesive. ![]()
