Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my journey of integrating Tessie data into Home Assistant’s energy dashboard. As a new user, I found this process a bit challenging, but it was definitely rewarding once I figured it out!
First off, I wanted to track my electric vehicle’s energy consumption alongside my home’s usage. I knew Tessie provided detailed data, but converting it into something usable for the energy dashboard was the tricky part. After some research, I discovered that Tessie integration in Home Assistant pulls data, but it wasn’t directly compatible with the energy counters needed for the dashboard.
I spent hours tweaking the configuration, trying to convert the data into kWh. It was a bit frustrating at first, but I finally managed to set up a custom sensor that calculates the energy used based on the miles driven. Now, my energy dashboard gives me a clear picture of both my home and EV consumption!
