Integrating TP-Link Dimmer Switch with HomeAssistant

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent project and ask for some advice! I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my smart home setup, and I came across the TP-Link Tapo dimmer switch. It’s such a sleek device, and I think it would be perfect for controlling some puck lights in my kitchen. The idea is to have a physical switch that can either dim or turn the lights on/off, all while integrating seamlessly with HomeAssistant. I already have a Tapo hub for some sensors, so I’m hoping this will work as a bridging solution until I can get some more permanent wiring done.

I’ve done a bit of research, and it seems like the Tapo dimmer is compatible with HomeAssistant, but I’m not entirely sure about the setup process. I know the lights are Tuya-based, which is great, but I want to make sure everything communicates smoothly. I’m also curious if there are other battery-powered solutions that could work just as well, maybe even with different brands. I don’t mind if it’s just on/off functionality—I’m more focused on reliability and ease of use.

If anyone has experience with similar setups or can recommend a step-by-step guide, I’d be so grateful! I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts and tips. Thanks in advance for your help—I can’t wait to get this project off the ground!
