Hello fellow SmartThings enthusiasts! I recently embarked on a project to integrate a Triple Z-Wave Switch (Horus HSC S513) into my SmartThings ecosystem, and I thought I’d share my journey with you. While the process was enlightening, it wasn’t without its hurdles, and I hope this post can help others avoid some of the pitfalls I encountered.Initially, I was thrilled to discover that the first switch integrated seamlessly with SmartThings. However, the other two switches were not recognized, which was quite perplexing. After some research, I found that others had successfully integrated all three switches using Vera Plus and Fibaro concentrators. This led me to explore whether there was a workaround for SmartThings.I reached out to the community and received some invaluable insights. It turns out that SmartThings has limitations when it comes to handling multiple Z-Wave switches from certain manufacturers. However, there are ways to optimize the setup. One user suggested ensuring that the Z-Wave network is as strong as possible, which can be achieved by placing the hub in a central location and minimizing interference.Another tip was to use the Z-Wave Multi-Switch device handler, which can sometimes accommodate additional switches. I experimented with this and found that while it didn’t fully resolve the issue, it did provide a partial workaround. I also discovered that manually adding the switches through the SmartThings app, rather than relying on auto-discovery, sometimes yielded better results. In the end, I realized that while SmartThings might not be the most seamless platform for this particular switch, with a bit of tweaking and persistence, it’s possible to get all three switches working. I also learned the importance of checking community forums and documentation before diving into a project, as they can save a lot of time and frustration.I hope this post has been helpful for anyone looking to integrate a Triple Z-Wave Switch into their SmartThings setup. If you have any questions or additional tips, please feel free to share them below! Happy automating! ![]()
