Integrating Velux Rollershutters and Overcoming UI Challenges

I recently faced an interesting challenge while integrating my Velux rollershutters into my smart home setup. The new UI didn’t allow me to invert the control buttons, which initially caused some confusion with how the rollershutters operated via Alexa. After some research and trial and error, I managed to resolve the issue by adjusting the inverted parameter in the binding configuration and tweaking the Alexa definitions. This not only fixed the control buttons in the UI but also ensured that Alexa interactions worked seamlessly. However, I noticed that the status display in the Alexa app was inverted, which is a minor inconvenience but doesn’t affect functionality. I’m curious if others have encountered similar issues or if there are alternative solutions to address the status display without compromising the control functionality. Overall, it’s been a valuable learning experience in customizing smart home devices to suit specific needs.
