I’m thrilled to share my recent experience integrating video surveillance with my Homematic setup. I’ve been using Homematic for lighting and heating control, and I’ve always wanted to expand into video surveillance. After some research and experimentation, I’ve got it all working seamlessly! 
First, I wanted to share some tips for anyone looking to integrate video cameras into their Homematic system:
- Choose the Right Camera: I went with a camera that supports both local storage and cloud integration. This gives me flexibility and peace of mind knowing my footage is secure.
- Integration with Homematic: I used the Homematic CCU2 to connect my camera. The setup was straightforward thanks to the Homematic app’s user-friendly interface. I was able to control my camera’s settings and view live feeds directly from my smartphone!
- Motion Detection and Alerts: Setting up motion detection was a breeze. I configured the system to send push notifications to my phone whenever motion is detected. It’s incredibly reassuring to get real-time alerts, especially when I’m away from home.
- Custom Scenarios: I created custom scenarios where the lights turn on and the camera starts recording if motion is detected during specific times. It’s like having a personal security guard!
